Waking Dream

drawing, Meredith's poetry

In honor of Valentines Day I have written a love poem and drawn a picture to go with it.  I hope you enjoy it even if it’s not what you might think of.

Waking Dreams

My waking dreams

the bridge between minds interpretation and reality

I saw you last night but you were not there

I kissed you so softly, like butterfly wings

and then you dissolved into night

into eternity

an endlessness of soft lips on mine turning into cool air

and then I woke

My memories play tricks on me

True memories and dream memories

They are confused

Were we in love?  The question lingers

that feeling so hard to pin down

I’d catch it in a net but no matter what I do the holes are too big

The webbing just moves through it like air

And you’re not real

You’re a dream that I saw

Gossamer and dew drops have more substance than you

Rainbow Squares

doodle, ink, sketch book

In the past week or two I’ve been writing a lot.  It’s sort of funny since I’ve always thought of myself as more visual than verbal.  However, as a result of all the ideas coming out of my head I’ve needed to burn off some energy.  Exercise is good for this but also painting or drawing.  Since I’ve had no ideas for drawing recently I went to my fall back, drawing squares.  Below you will see the hundreds of squares that I drew and colored in.  If you like to look at pretty colors this should be right up your alley.
